Airbag protection device

The airbag (12) with an outer wall (14) comprising a first material contains at least one gas exit opening (20) which is covered by a membrane (24) comprising a stretchable second membrane when the airbag is not completely inflated. The membrane is secured to the outer wall of the airbag and can be destroyed by a device (26) located outside and sufficiently from the airbag so that the membrane only comes into contact with the device once a given internal pressure inside the airbag has been reached.
