Surveying and position measuring instrument with a fan-shapped light beam

A distance measuring unit includes a light emitting unit (2211) to emit laser light in a scanning direction of target. A cylinder Fresnel lens (2215) expands the fan beam laser light in fan-shaped manner for distance measurement. The light reflected from the target is received by a light receiving unit of the distance measurement unit.
