Vehicle passenger detection device

A weight sensor provided between seat and floor of vehicle, measures the load applied to the seat. The fluctuation amplitude of measured value is detected. A negative correction is applied to measured value when fluctuation is less than preset value. The presence of passenger is determined by comparing the measured value with threshold value.
