Method and apparatus for controlling the heating of the glow plugs of a Diesel engine

A process for controlling the heating of glow plugs in a diesel engine comprises emulating the thermal behavior of the plug on heating and cooling and using this information as control data for controlling the heating process. An Independent claim is also included for a device for the above process using a physical model and energy store.
