The indication device has at least one 7-segment display (1) that indicates an open state of at least one access device. Individual segments (2) of immediately adjacent 7-segment displays indicate a meaningful word related to the open state of the access devices. The lateral segments and/or the lower and/or upper segment of one of the 7-segment displays each represents an access device. AN Independent claim is also included for the following: (a) the use of a kilometer display with several 7-segment displays as an inventive display device.
