A glass composition comprises 65-74 wt.% silica, 0-5 wt.% boron oxide, 1.9-2.5 wt.% alumina, 1-3 wt.% magnesia, 5-10 wt.% calcium oxide, 0-10 wt.% strontium oxide, 0-10 wt.% barium oxide, 0-5 wt.% lithium oxide, 13-17 wt.% sodium oxide, 0.5-5 wt.% potassium oxide, 0-0.4 wt.% titanium oxide and 0.3-2 wt.% total iron oxide in terms of ferric oxide. A glass composition comprises 65-74 wt.% silica (SiO 2), 0-5 wt.% boron oxide (B 2O 3), 1.9-2.5 wt.% alumina (Al 2O 3), 1-3 wt.% magnesia (MgO), 5-10 wt.% calcium oxide (CaO), 0-10 wt.% strontium oxide (SrO), 0-10 wt.% barium oxide (BaO), 0-5 wt.% lithium oxide (Li 2O), 13-17 wt.% sodium oxide (Na 2O), 0.5-5 wt.% potassium oxide (K 2O), 0-0.4 wt.% titanium oxide and 0.3-2 wt.% total iron oxide in terms of ferric oxide. The sum of MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO is 10-15%, and the sum of Li 2O, Na 2O and K 2O is 14-20%. At a thickness of 2.1 mm, the glass composition has a visible light transmittance of >= 80% and a total solar energy transmittance of not > 62%.
