Vehicle shift lever device

The device (10) has a lock body with a steering lock mechanism for supporting a shift lever. A starter unit with the lock body starts the engine when a receiver receives the predefined information from an electronic card key, and the shift lever is positioned in the Pshift position. A shift locking pin (26) effects the vehicle braking and the pin prevents a lock plate rotation if brake is not operated.
