"textContent": "In a process to regulate the exhaust gas emissions from an automotive engine (100), the nature of the exhaust gas components is detected, determined and compared with target values (SP, SN). A correction is made especially to the combustion conditions within the motor by variation of an appropriate control parameter. The parameter varied is either the supply of air and/or fuel. The supply of air is corrected by variation of the exhaust gas return and/or the supply of fresh air. The fuel parameter is corrected by adjustment of the commencement, termination or duration of fuel injection. The process detects exhaust gas particle concentration and/or NOx emissions. The target value (SP, SN) is determined in accordance with motor speed (N), the commencement of a main fuel injection cycle, the quantity of fuel injected, the preliminary quantity injected, and the final quantity injected. Also claimed is a commensurate assembly.",
