Improved signalling device for vehicles

The indicator light unit (10) for a vehicle includes an additional connector (22) enabling the connection of a supplementary signalling unit (24). This optional extra facility enables the production of an audible warning when the vehicle is reversing. The indicator light unit (10) for a vehicle comprises a casing (12) with a cover (20). Inside the casing is the lamp (11) and reflector (15), able to serve various possible indicator functions. The casing (12) includes an additional connector (22) enabling the connection of a supplementary signalling unit (24) outside the immediate casing of the indicator unit itself. This supplementary signalling unit may, for example, be a sound warning generator, enabling the production of an audible warning when the vehicle is reversing. Whilst the indicator unit may have more than one function, the supplementary signalling unit is only activated when the indicator is used in reversing light mode.
