Device for connecting two facing flanges (4, 6) of components (1, 2), especially modular components, comprises a mechanical clamping device for the flanges. At least one distribution plate (3) provided between the facing surfaces (5, 7) of the flanges has surfaces (29, 30) facing toward the flange surfaces. The distribution plate has at least one bore (14). Seals (15) are arranged between the flange surfaces and the distribution plate surfaces. Preferred Features: At least one distribution plate surface is provided with an open-worked coating of elastic material.
