An intervention unit (10) and a control unit (15) activate braking members (2) when a distance between a vehicle and an obstacle is equal to predetermined value. Parking sensors (17) are connected to an acoustic alarm (19) which is activated when the parking sensors detect obstacle during vehicle reversing. The vehicle comprises a braking system (1) of compressed air or hydropneumatic type presenting a vessel (7) containing a pressurized air. The braking system comprises usual braking members associated with the wheels (3) of the vehicle. An engine gear shift lever (9) and usual warning light (18) are activated on selecting the device.
