Airbag module for vehicles

The unit has a tubular gas generator (1) attached to a vehicle structure for generating fill gas for a gas bag. The gas generator can be moved longitudinally relative to the vehicle structure and interacts with a deformation element (3) deformed when a force (F) greater than or equal to a defined minimum force acts upon it to enable movement of the gas generator along its axis (R).
