Folding seat having support stops for the use position of the seat

The tilting seat (10) for a motor vehicle has a squab (12) movably mounted with respect to the vehicle floor (16) between a lowered position against the floor and a raised use position. The squab is mounted to the floor on a linkage (18) with stops (58,24,72) to hold it in the use position in which it is raised. The stops can be corresponding formation on the vehicle structure and the squab.
