An integrated pulley-torsional damper assembly
DRIVE
March 10, 2004
Described herein is an integrated pulley-torsional damper assembly (2, 2', 2'', 2''') provided with a hub (11) designed for being rigidly connected to a drive member (4), a pulley (7), which is radially supported by the hub (11) and can be used for transmitting motion to an auxiliary member (5), and damping means (12, 12', 12'', 12''') for damping torsional oscillations, said damping means, in turn, including at least one annular element (13, 51, 71) connected to the hub (11) by means of at least one elastomeric ring (14, 50, 70). The invention is characterized in that the pulley (7) is mounted in an angularly free way on the hub (11) and in that the assembly (2, 2', 2'', 2''') is further provided with means for angular coupling (16, 17, 18, 18', 60, 61, 72) between the pulley (7) and the annular element (13, 51, 71), which can be selectively activated/deactivated for enabling, in a coupling condition, driving of the auxiliary member (5) by the drive member (4), and in a condition of release, free rotation of the pulley (7) on the hub (11) and control of the auxiliary member (5) independently of control of the drive member (4).
