When a transition is made from a four-wheel drive state to a two-wheel drive state, and the clutch (12) is released during vehicle travel, the motor torque is maintained constant at a level of a clutch-release torque required by the electric motor (4) as the output for bringing the torque on the clutch (12) substantially to zero.",
