Rocker switch system

The tilting switch for a motor vehicle steering wheel airbag has a tilting operating cover (10) for the airbag container with a contact area (40) adjacent (31,33) the container. The actuator operates directly on the contact area and is pivoted (11) to the container at one edge (14). The actuator contacts (12) operate in the contact area at an opposite edge of the container.
