Trailer with self drive device
DRIVE
March 3, 2004
The trailer has a draw-bar (1), an energy source (2), and a self-propelling drive. This is formed as friction wheel drives (5) for a trailer wheel (6) of a fixed axle on each trailer side. Both friction wheel drives move at the same or different speeds, so that the trailer can travel along various tracks. Each drive has a drive unit with drive roller having a friction surface, and a spring (9) supported relative to the chassis, which generates approximately constant contact pressure on the trailer wheel. The energy source is a generator, and the drive unit is an electric motor, especially rotary current motor.
