BUMPER REINFORCEMENT FOR VEHICLE BODY AND METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRESSINGLY BENDFORMING BUMPER REINFORCEMENT

A bumper reinforce for a vehicle is disclosed. A bumper reinforce 14 is arranged at a front end of side members of a vehicle body via bumper stays 12. The bumper reinforce 14 has end portions 14-2, which are bent with respect to a central portion 14-1. At a side (rear side) of the bumper reinforce 14, to which a compression force is generated during bending, an elongated recess 18 is formed, which is elongated in the longitudinal direction and which forms a cross-sectional shape of a partial circle. A surplus of metal, generated when a rectangular pipe is subjected to the bending, is flown into the recess 18. Abending of an angle larger than 10 degree is possible without generating any wrinkle.
