Sound-damping accessory for vehicles

Sound-absorbing component (1) for motor vehicles comprises a hollow chamber (3, 3') at least partly filled with insulating material (4), and at least one rigid connecting point (5) for connecting to the vehicle. The insulating material is made of rubber and/or another elastic rubber material and is arranged in the region of the connecting point. Preferred Features: The component is made by extrusion forming and forms a covering part for the underside of a vehicle.
