The device has a hydropneumatic spring leg for arrangement between a bogie and a railway vehicle wagon with a piston in a cylinder, each connected to one of the bogie or wagon. The cylinder's piston chamber is connected to a pressure storage device. The spring leg contains a hydraulic height regulating valve or a height sensor connected to/for connection to a control loop with which the piston position in the cylinder can be regulated or detected. The device has a hydropneumatic spring leg for arrangement between a bogie and a wagon of a railway vehicle with a piston (30) in a cylinder (40), each connected to one of the bogie or wagon. The piston chamber (42) of the cylinder is connected to a pressure storage device. The hydropneumatic spring leg contains a hydraulic height regulating valve or a height sensor (50) connected to/for connection to a control loop with which the piston position in the cylinder can be regulated or detected.
