Method and device for locating an object using a vision measurement technique
DRIVE
February 25, 2004
A vision system object location unit has an optical head (10) mounted on a robot (1) and projects (10) a geometric light pattern (16) of parallel lines onto relief zones around a car (3) windscreen (2) frame (5) to take two images in reflection in different directions using narrow band filters from which an object is located by the deformations in the pattern lines and its coordinates calculated and checked by comparison between the two sets of coordinates. An independent claim is included for the addition of diffuse light sources in the same band for contrast processing.
