Device comprises an injector (4) provided with fuel from a fuel supply (11) and protruding with an injection nozzle (5) into a combustion chamber (3) of an internal combustion engine (1). The fuel is injected in a non-symmetrical jet (6) relative to a longitudinal axis (22) of the injector. The injector is arranged in a position corresponding to the jet in an injector holder (8) formed in a cylinder head (2) closing the combustion chamber. The injector is axially tensioned in the injector holder by a spring element (10) and held in its position in a form-locking manner by a fixing device (13). Preferred Features: The spring element is supported on a shoulder element (9) inserted in the injector holder using a bayonet catch (12).
