Device for monitoring the wear of a catenary line

The wear monitor for an overhead tubular railway wire has a filling in the wire so that if wear or damage occurs due to train pantograph movement and the pantograph contacts the filling, a signal is sent from a contact sensor to a monitor. The filling can be transparent and an optical sensor can be used.
