Internal combustion engine with an arrangement for an auxiliary module
DRIVE
February 11, 2004
Internal combustion engine comprises a drive arrangement for aggregate modules. At least one aggregate (1) of a first module is driven by a driving gear (3) on an engine shaft (crankshaft (4)) using an enveloping drive (2) (i.e. a belt or chain). A secondary aggregate (5) (water pump) of a second module is positioned in a drive connection via a driving gear interacting in a force- and/or form-locking manner with the outer side (6) of the enveloping drive. The secondary aggregate is driven by a wheel gear (7) having an intermediate gear (9) interacting in a force- and/or form-locking manner with the outer side of the enveloping drive in the belt contact area (8) of a driving gear of the engine or of an aggregate of the first module. The intermediate gear is positioned in a force- and/or form-locking connection with the drive wheel (10) of the secondary aggregate.
