"textContent": "An annular antenna loop (32) is electrically coupled to a transponder (34). The antenna (32) and the transponder (34) are at least partially embedded into a non-conductive carrier strip (36) to form a ring assembly (10) to render the antenna (32) and transponder (34) package unitarily transportable. The annular assembly (10) affixes to a tire (12) in a post-manufacture attachment procedure and at a location that minimizes exposure of the annular apparatus (10) to strain and to electro-magnetic interference from the metallic wheel rim (26). An annular apparatus (10) comprises a toroidal body (82) composed of a material having high electromagnetic permeability and the body (82) a through bore 88), an electrical device (34) coupled to the toroidal body (82), and a loop antenna (32) disposed to extend through the through bore (88) in direct magnetic coupled relationship with the toroidal body (82). The loop antenna (32) is in a mechanically de-coupled relationship with the toroidal body (82) and lies substantially in a first plane that intersects the toroidal body opening (88) at a right angle. In one embodiment, the electrical device (34) comprises a transponder (34) for monitoring cavity parameters in a pneumatic tire (12).",
