Accelerator controller

Fuel consumption due to abrupt acceleration is reduced. An auto-cruising control (6) is automatically started without intention of a driver and executes a control for gently and reasonably accelerating a vehicle even when an accelerator pedal is displaced abruptly. When a regular running state is detected, the auto-cruising control is started automatically. When the auto-cruising control is effective and the accelerator pedal is displaced substantially, fuel consumption is restricted by setting an aimed vehicle speed stepwise with small speed change, so that a large amount of fuel is not supplied.
