In a method for the parking braking of a vehicle, in particular a lorry, which comprises a service brake and an air-pressure controlled spring-actuated parking brake, the air pressure for releasing the spring-actuated parking brake is maintained even when stopping the vehicle and with simultaneous actuation of the parking brake, as long as the air pressure in the service brake is sufficient to arrest the vehicle.
