Floor mat for motor vehicles

The floor mat has a braided edge equipped with self-gripping hooks along at least two sides. The braiding can be affixed to the mat by sewing, welding or adhesive, and the self-gripping elements can be both male and female, i.e. hooks and loops, disposed randomly or alternately. The mat can be applied dfirectly to existing carpet or to Velcro (RTM) strips.
