Fuel injector

A fuel injector comprising an outer valve needle (14) and an inner valve needle (30), the inner valve needle (30) being slidable within a bore (28) formed in the outer valve needle (14). The inner and outer valve needles (14, 30) are exposed to fuel pressure within a control chamber (46) and a single actuator is arranged to control the fuel pressure within the control chamber (46).
