The system for attaching pressurized tanks, fuel tanks or gas cylinders (2) to the underside of a car chassis comprises at least two stirrups (6) which fit around the tank. The ends of the stirrups are fastened to brackets (8, 10) bolted to the chassis. At least one stirrup has a V shape, its inner limb (20) lying inside the normal (22) to the surface of the cylinder when it is in position, so as to correspond as closely as possible to the shape of its surface.
