Optical distance measuring device

DRIVE January 14, 2004
Source
Optical detection or distance measurement device comprises a light source (1) with transmission optics (2) to project the light beam along an axis (Oe) onto a target (C) to be measured and a first detector (3) defining a receiving axis (Or) that is within the same reference plane (A) as the transmission axis. The device comprises at least one second detector (5) aligned with the first detector, but in a second plane (B) inclined to the first plane. The angle between the planes is between 10 and 170 degrees. An Independent claim is also included for an optical arrangement with two transmitters in a plane and a receiver in a second plane.
