Accelerator pedal with integrated return force control
DRIVE
January 2, 2004
Accelerator pedal with integral return force control, comprises a pedal arm (1), a sensor for determining the pedal position, a hysteresis device (3) and return springs (4,5). A control actuator in the form of a motor or motor-reducer is controlled by an electronic command unit that controls the return force such that it is proportional to the command amplitude. There is no modification of the hysteresis slope, and the anchoring point of the return springs is moved so that the return force is convergent with its initial value over the whole pedal path.
