Battery with improved safety

The battery has a sealed container housing multiple cells, each having a protective cap that opens under internal over-pressure. Products expelled through the cap enter a collector space (4), into which water is sprayed (7) to lower the temperature of the ejected products. The water is pressurized in a container (9), and released though a line (8) when a detector (11) senses an anomaly.
