Container with movable bulkheads

An enclosed container 10 for storing temperature sensitive goods. The container 10 has opposed side walls 12,13 and end walls 14,15 as well as a floor 17 and a ceiling 16. First and second bulkheads 25,26 are moveably mounted within the container 10 for dividing the container into three separate compartments 27,28,30. Two end compartments 27,28 are services by fixed heat exchangers 33 for conditioning the air in the compartments. A center compartment 30 is serviced by a movable heat exchanger 35. By repositioning the bulkheads 23,26 and the movable heat exchanger 35 the volume and thus the load carrying capacity of the compartments 27,28,30 can be varied to accommodate different types of cargo and the temperature levels in the compartment 27,28,30 independently maintained.
