The invention relates to an air flow meter having an element which detects an air flow rate comprising a block (230) in which an auxiliary flow path (242) is formed, wherein the block (230) is inserted through a wall of a body (240) forming a primary flow path (241) and constituting an intake air passage of an internal combustion engine in a cantilever condition in the primary flow path (241), wherein the auxiliary flow path (242) having an inlet portion directed against the direction of the primary air flow in the primary flow path (242) and having a curved portion, wherein the block (230) is detachably mounted to the body (240).
