Battery system and method for transmitting information regarding the battery capacity

The battery system transmits information about at least one battery (20) characteristic to a receiving device, especially for a motor vehicle (10). The information is transmitted using electromagnetic radiation. An electromagnetic radiation frequency in the radio frequency range is used. A freely selectable radio frequency is used as the carrier frequency for the electromagnetic radiation, preferably 125 kHz, 13.56 MHz or 433 MHz. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a battery, especially for a motor vehicle (b) and a method of information about at least one battery characteristic, especially for a motor vehicle.
