The device consists of a vertically pivotable protective screen (15) of electrically non-conducting material that is arranged horizontally above the sliding contact (13) in its operating position. The screen consists of a rectangular frame (18) of light construction material with attached pivoting legs (16) and a covering (19) of crack-proof and isolating fabric material.
