Method for functional checking of an air intake device for a combustion engine

The mass flowrate of fresh air induced, is varied by controlling the opening of the recycle valve (14) and altering the power to the compressor drive (16, 17, 18). Values (LM10, LM20, LM1n, LM2n) corresponding with the mass of air are measured and stored as a function of valve opening and drive power. The relationship between these variables is evaluated to output a test result.
