The gear change arrangement has a gear change lever (1) and a mechanism (4-9) for transferring the selection movement to the gearbox. The gear lever can be moved in an automatic gear change gate for selecting automatic gear stages and in a sequential change gate for manually changing up and down. The gear change arrangement has three adjacent, pref. essentially mutually parallel movement areas, each two adjacent movement areas being provided for different functions
