The invention relates to an exhaust valve control device (1) for two stroke engines, the device (1) comprising a governor (2), elements (3) connecting the governor (2) to an exhaust control valve (4), able to advance or retard opening of the exhaust port, a damper (14) attached to the connecting elements (3). The damper (14) may be a hydraulic shock absorber (15) with adjustable braking.
