Navigation device and method for route planning

The method involves determining a route between locations with a route computation device, especially a vehicle navigation system, with a visual output device for displaying a map. A map containing the first and second locations is displayed with markers (P) movable via an input unit. A preferred route corridor (K1,K2) including the position of the movable marker is specified for a route computation and the route is computed.
