An electrochemical battery comprises a casing for secondary electrochemical cells, with a surface of revolution around an axis of revolution. A fan is received in a central portion of the casing on the axis of revolution. The cells are housed in the casing around the periphery of the fan in such a way as to be swept by the flow of air the fan generates between air inlet and outlet openings. An electrochemical battery comprises a casing housing secondary electrochemical cells (8) arranged to deliver selected electrical characteristics, and fan (7) for delivering a flow of air in the casing, the casing having an air inlet opening(s) and an air outlet opening(s). The casing presents a surface of revolution around an axis of revolution (X), in that the fan is received in a central portion (6) of the casing substantially on the axis of revolution. The cells are housed in the casing around the periphery of the fan means in such a manner as to be swept by the flow of air the fan generates between the air inlet and outlet openings.
