Exhaust gas turbine for a turbocharger
DRIVE
October 29, 2003
The exhaust gas turbine (2) has a turbine wheel (4) enclosed by a double-walled housing (5) with both its inner mantle (6) and its outer mantle (7) connected to a bearing housing (1) for the turbine wheel and provided by 2 half shells (26,27; 8,9) joined together at their outer radial peripheries. The outer mantle half shells overlap axially to provide a V-shaped gap (20), with a welded joint between the overlapping edges (18,19), the inner mantle divided into 2 chambers (29,30) by a partition (28) radial to the rotation axis (11) of the turbine wheel.
