The sub turbine drives an electrical generator (20) which supplies electrical power to a power input controller (22) which supplies electrical power to a fan motor (26) which drives an engine cooling fan (28). The power input controller also supplies electrical power to a pump motor which drives an engine coolant pump. The sub turbine is preferably a variable geometry turbine whose geometry is controlled so that its power consumption matches the electrical load of the generator.",
