Electrochemical cell or stack arrangement of two or more electrochemical cells

The cell or arrangement has a gas-tight and ion transmitting cell membrane (7) per cell, an anode on one side of the membrane and a cathode on the other side, a gas diffusion layer (4,11) and a bipolar or end plate (1) on each side of the membrane and a supporting frame (10) on at least one side between the membrane and a gas diffusion layer. The gas diffusion layer can be fixed to the bipolar or end plate by the supporting frame.
