Mechanism for modifying a supporting surface

The support face (3) for seats and beds is longitudinally deformable. The support face has telescopically extendible struts with curved over end sections to which the deformable section is connected. The curved ends of the telescopic struts can be circular or elliptical. The actuator mechanism for the telescopic struts is covered.
