A secondary wave is then sent out and the reflected wave is also received. The thickness of the profiled material layer is then calculated based on the primary and secondary reflected waves. The primary and secondary electromagnetic waves are polarized, and the frequency regions are varied. The electromagnetic waves are microwaves.
