Method for producing an articulation mounted on a support
DRIVE
September 24, 2003
The articulated joint, especially for a motor vehicle support (6), is made from an inner reinforcing member (2) and an elastomer element (7) moulded onto the support and includes a chemical/mechanical treatment stage of the inner member so that the elastomer element sticks or fastens to it. The manufacturing process also includes a stage in which an outer polymer reinforcing member (4) is overmoulded onto the support and the inner member/elastomer element assembly. The inner assembly is made by a classical moulding operation, and the outer surface of the elastomer element can be coated with an adhesive to facilitate the fixing to the outer reinforcing member. Both inner and outer reinforcing members have a rigidity greater than that of the elastomer element, and the outer reinforcing member is made with two retaining collars (12) to improve its vertical immobility relative to the support.
