Bumper beam assembly

A bumper beam assembly comprising: a bumper beam mounting structure (14); and a plurality of elongated, roll-formed bumper beam members (12) fixed to said bumper beam mounting structure, said bumper beam members being formed from a first, ultra high strength steel and having substantially identical cross-sectional configurations each having one open side, said bumper beam mounting structure closing off said one open side of each of said bumper beam members and being formed from a second steel that is milder than said first steel and that has a lower tensile strength than said first steel. A bumper beam assembly comprising: a bumper beam mounting structure (14); and a plurality of elongated, roll-formed bumper beam members (12) fixed to said bumper beam mounting structure, said bumper beam members being formed from a first, ultra high strength steel and having substantially identical cross-sectional configurations each having one open side, said bumper beam mounting structure closing off said one open side of each of said bumper beam members and being formed from a second steel that is milder than said first steel and that has a lower tensile strength than said first steel.
