Wheel suspension for a motor vehicle comprises a bearing element (1) for the wheel axle, a support (3) on which the bearing element is rotatably mounted relative to a vertical axis (6), a shock-absorbing leg (4) connected to the support and supported on the vehicle body, and a transversal swinging arm (8) coupled to the vehicle body and connected to the support in a joint (2). The shock-absorbing leg and/or the support is coupled to a stabilizer (20). An Independent claim is also included for an alternative wheel suspension. Preferred Features: The stabilizer is coupled to the shock-absorbing leg and/or the support via an elastic bearing or a socket joint. The transversal swinging arm is fixed on the support or the bearing element in a socket joint.
